If you don’t like something, it doesn’t mean it’s wrong!

In our life from childhood to till now we learnt a lot of things and made millions and billions of beliefs and emotions. Of course our beliefs and emotions are influenced by our knowledge and experience. There are many things in our belief system, which we strongly agree with and many things we strongly disagree with. And this feeling is so strong that we argue and fight with others because they do not have the same opinion and in other words they have different beliefs. We try to convey that “No! No! You are wrong! What I believe in, that is the only thing and everything should be like this only. And we force others to agree with us.” Which is next to impossible.

This happens only because we believe strongly in our belief system blindly. Instead of learning from others and questioning our beliefs, emotions and knowledge, we start to dominate others and force them to listen and agree with us. But maybe we never think like that, it is my beliefs, my opinions, my feelings and others have their own beliefs, opinions and feelings. We most of the time argue on nonsense. We just need to understand that they are different people with different personalities. Their upbringing was different and yours different, their situations and problems, experiences, learnings are different and yours different. How can we expect the same beliefs and emotions? Obviously their beliefs, emotions, feelings, opinions will not be the same.

Most of the time we argue on minor things which we can easily ignore. We should listen to others as well, whether we agree or not. If we do not agree then we can discuss with them to know their thought process. There is a maximum possibility that we will learn something new. And if we cannot agree with them then share your opinion without argument and still if you do not agree with each other and respect each other opinion and move.

It does not mean that only one will be right and the other will be wrong. Sometimes everyone is right and everyone is wrong. Even most of the time everyone is right. (I am not talking about crime here. I am talking about what we experience in our daily life.)

Sometimes opinions, choices, preferences, and so on are not just about right and wrong, it is just about what kind of knowledge we acquired and what our preferences are. Let’s understand this in other words, “If you are looking at a situation from one side and everything seems absolutely good, but from the other side you cannot look at it and there is a big issue. Means, we cannot be able to look at a situation from all perspectives.” That is why, we should always try to understand other’s opinions and decisions and if we cannot then at least respect.

There is no need to forcefully obey someone or get your point made. One thing we should definitely add in our lifestyle and that is to upgrade yourself, upgrade your knowledge, and upgrade your belief system. Just as old Android phones and old Apple phones cannot be used effectively in this new technology world. How can we use our old knowledge and beliefs in this upgraded world? “Old is gold”, But use gold with new designs and ideas. Biggest benefit of upgrading ourselves is, we develop strength to see things broadly or we can say, we develop a broad mindset. Which helps us to understand that “If we don’t like something, it doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It’s nothing more than our opinion.”
