Become Your Real Self

When it comes to our real self, we think, “we are real, we are not fake, we are not having mask on our face”. Well this is not about fake or having mask, this is about self-realization. It sounds very heavy but there is nothing simpler and truer than this.

We understand simple meaning of self-realization and that is, “know deeper and deeper about yourself”. Many times we regret because of wrong chooses or wrong decisions or wrong actions. Why does this happen? It happens because of “lack of self-understanding or self-realization. Just like we have to spend time with others to understand them, similarly we should spend some time with ourselves to understand ourselves.

Now you will say, “What do I need to understand myself? I know what I want.” But most of the time you don’t know, “What is your actual need?” We have worn many layers on our mind which are influenced by our surroundings. For example — If you are living in a family since childhood, where non-veg is eaten. Then you will worn a layer with believe that there is nothing wrong with eating non-veg but if you are living with vegetarian family, you will worn a layer with believe that we should not kill an animal for our taste. Both layers are influenced by our family. And we wore many layer on our mind like this.

What to do?

Few steps you need to follow:

1. Sit in a lonely place. Many people afraid to be alone but the simple understanding of loneliness is “spend time with yourself”. And if you can’t spent time with yourself, how can you expect others to do the same.

2. Ask a question you have confusion about. If you are confuse about making choices or actions. Ask, “What if I don’t do this? What if I do this? Will it really affect me? Do I really like to do it?” Ask your own questions.

3. Filter your answers. Whatever answers you get from your questions. Filter them to know the root of it. Ask as many question as you can.

In starting it will be little difficult for you. You will not have question in your mind. But once you will be habitual of it, it will happen automatically. I give an example of it:

I want to become a Graphic Designer.

Q: Why do I want to become a Graphic Designer?

A: Because I love to play with photos and graphic software.

Q: Can I do this even if I get less income from it?

A: If I am doing something which I love. I am happy with low income. (If you do something you love there is more chances to grow income)

Q: What if I don’t do this?

A: If I don’t do this, I have to do something which I don’t love. And that will only add troubles to me.

Q: Do I really love Graphic Designing?

A: Of course! I get completely refresh my mind by designing.

This was the example of “self-realization”. Your questions can be different, your answers can different, and your purpose can be different. But it will help you to make right choices.

Make sure your each and every choice should not be influenced by others. There is nothing wrong with being influenced by others. But when we start avoiding ourselves by being influenced by others, then we start making wrong choices.
